Work Experience
Group & Project Lead
Berliner Stadtwerke KP GmbH, BerlinSince the beginning of 2022 I am the Group Lead of our Heat Supply Team. Together we keep on managing the renewal of heating and cooling systems in the city of Berlin.
Here you find a few german press releases about our projects:
Project Lead
Berliner Stadtwerke KP GmbH, BerlinAs the Project Lead of Heat Production Plants I manage the renewal of heating systems in the city of Berlin. We use current technologies in combination with CHP, heat pumps, solar heating or other renewable systems. I am involved in planning and executing new projects, overvieweing the construction site and manage the projects overall success.
Project Lead
beta GmbH, BerlinI manage a small team of engineers and clerks. Together with our Lead of Accounting we introduce new management methods optimizing workflows and reducing project costs. In addition I obtain the representation power of attorny (Vertrauensvollmacht) concerning decisions within our projects. In 2018 my team and I already realized two CHP-plant projects for which I am fully responsible. It supplies 30 to 50 terraced houses with heat and electrity.
Project Engineer
beta GmbH, Berlinbeta GmbH is an energy contractor which supplies customers with heat & electricity from small CHP plants in domestic areas. As a contractor beta GmbH carries out consulting, planning, financing and operation of the energy systems. In addition beta GmbH operates their own heating stations.
Among other tasks I manage and monitor maintenance optimization of the existing heating stations as well as the entire planning of new projects.
In my daily work I am also mainly responsible for the regulatory framework of CHP plants. This includes the EEG, EnEff, EnEv, KWKG, EnStG, StromStG and EnWG.
Project Engineer
Theilen Maschinenbau, VarelI projected belt dryer systems for applications in the chemical and food industry worldwide. My tasks included establishing quotations and engineering dry processes. I managed projects from start to finish. Part of it was defining the project's goal with the customers on site followed by the specifications of the dryer system. This also included choosing component suppliers and change management.
Technical Assistant
As part of the “Callux” project, a on-road test for domestic fuel cell heating systems, I evaluated and summarized the results of the project.
Trainee
Institut für Solarenergieforschung, HamelnFor the “KES” (Kosteneffiziente erdvergrabene Heißwasserspeicher) project concerning the cost-efficiency of land buried warm-water storage systems for one- and multi-family houses I evaluated test results and erected a prototype.
Trainee
Exxon Mobil Production Deutschland GmbHWorking alongside apprentices extended my basic practical knowledge in electrical and mechanical engineering. Based on these experiences I decided to study mechanical engineering.
Education
Master of Science
Carl von Ossietzky University of OldenburgDuring this international study program I obtained practical and theoretical knowledge about renewable energy systems. The program included a 2-month internship abroad. I specialized in “wind energy systems”.
Master Thesis (M. Sc.)
The thesis examined a specified wind hydrogen storage model using MatLab. Overspeed's part in the government funded “HyWindBalance” project was to provide a feasibility study.
Overall M. Sc. grade: 1.70
Bachelor of Engineering
Jade University of Applied Science, WilhelmshavenBeside further knowledge in classic mechanical engineering I learned about heating, air conditioning, photovoltaic and solar thermal systems.
Bachelor Thesis (B. Eng.)
Institut für Solarenergieforschung, Hameln
My objective was to analyze the usability and temperature stability of a sealing compound used in the flat plate collector. In a high temperature test stand I analyzed its ageing behaviour in stagnation. In order to examine the temperature profiles, I simulated construction variations of the flat plate collector in Heat2.
Overall B. Eng. grade: 1.83
International Experience
Trainee
University of Victoria, B.C., CanadaAs a part of “West Coast Wave Initiative (WCWI)” I researched wave energy systems. In SimuLink I implemented a model of a single motion wave energy converter with a hydraulic power take-off system.
Work & Travel
New ZealandWorking, traveling and living in another country broadened my view.
